The 7 habits of highly effective people - part onewhen i first heard of this book i said to myself that it is just another book about success and how to get it the fast way, and then i heard of it many times and it seemed that it was interesting. anyways, it was by chance when i bought it to my wife. I'm reading it now and i can say it is interesting, it is still just one of those books but it got me to read it.so I'll just tell you about it The book starts by stating that the fast ways to success and the technics just won't get you there, they are like pain relievers, they might fix the problem now but later the pain will come back as hard as it was unless we really treat it.The road to success(effectiveness) starts at the inside, within our own minds. He then defines two terms "mental image" or our perception and "principles" the real thing, he describes the "mental image" as the map of the town which is our perception of the town or what we think the town is, while the "principles" are the town itself.principles are not techniques as techniques might succeed in one situation and fail in another depending on the surrounding circumstances The author then points out that we need to change how we look at the problem, and stresses that we need to be able to evaluate our selves and our way of thinking, this act of observing and evaluating ourselves is what distinguishes us from animals. He describes the path of growing up in three phases : 1-being dependent on others totally, 2-being totally independent, 3-cooperating with other independent beings.Through the rest of the book the author will talk of 7 habits to be highly effective. He defines "Habit" as the result of three things : 1-the will (I want to do that), 2-the knowledge(I know how to do it), 3-the skill(i can do it good)
