enlightenment 17 is out of fedora

apparantly fedora discontinued maintaining e17 packages, so if you install f16 there will be no enlightenment to install.

As e17 is my chosen wm, I needed a quick replacement which does not start with a K or G. XFCE could be good for me but i decided to go for pekwm

the only reason is simple, I was able to configure it to emulate the most needed shortcuts i have in e17, and it is very light

checklist for moving from e17 to pekwm

  • configure shortcuts [done]
  • get a systray. use tint2 [done]
  • get a launcher to replace "everything" plugin. get kupfer [done]

kupfer is not part of fedora, so i built in OBS http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/ramezhanna/Fedora_16/

same for pekwm which was also available for f15 but not f16 so i built it also in the same location. also that is a single file you could just grab from the f15 repos

now time to start building e17 for my self, sigh
